Happy Memorial Day!

This is Troy. He sells produce on my way home by the side of the road. I pass him often and I catch myself saying, "I should photograph him some day". So I did and I understand he is happily retired from Alabama Bridge, he believes this world is going to pot,(maybe it is), and he loves Jesus Christ. Before I took his photograph I introduced myself and shook his hand as a kind gesture. His hands were large and weathered and through this handshake without words he told me much about himself and where he had been. Looking back on this encounter I realized this is the spirit of America and it's not hard if you look for it. Lived his life in the land of the free, worked hard until retirement, free to believe, and free to sit on the side of the road and sell vegetables.....God it's good to live in America!
